Creasey Car Trimmers is a small family firm, first established in 1981 by Max Creasey who, after leaving his engineering job, decided to make a full-time job out of a part time hobby he was doing when his upholsterer teacher passed away.

Working from a workshop round the back of his house, early work was mainly boat interiors from his engineering contacts but, after restoring a Ford Model A, Max soon made contacts in the vintage vehicle field, along with car dealerships around Ipswich.

The firm stayed steady from that point on, with friendly values leading to a wide client list, all work was coming in through word of mouth and the same is true today as our satisfied customers tell others about the quality of our work. In 1993 Max’s son Richard joined the firm, and has helped move the firm along without changing any of the family values. In 2006 Richard took over most of the running of the firm with Max cutting back to four days a week.

Sadly Max passed away in July 2012, and now Richard mainly works alone, using the vast experience Max has passed on. Throughout the years there has always been pressure to expand, but rather than risk becoming a autonomous firm we stayed close to our roots as a friendly, professional and personal company, always willing to do the smallest job to the biggest.

Our client list is still as varied as ever from the main car dealers to the Police force. We still work from workshops to the rear of what is now Richard’s home in Kesgrave, please come and give us a look we are always here to help and can try to answer any of your questions.

We’re sorry but we can’t normally come out to quote, as our schedule of work is usually quite full, but please feel free to contact us and preferably bring your vehicle so we can have a look.
